Embarked Fremantle per ‘Argyllshire’ A8 for England 9.11.1916.

Roll Unit 5th Reinforcements 44th Infantry Battalion.
Jones disembarked at Devonport. He proceeded overseas to France with 11th Training Battalion. 10.1.1917.
Jones was wounded in action in the Field, with a gunshot wound to his right elbow and neck at Popperinge, Ypres 4.10.1917 (AWM4 23/6/13 War Diary 44th Bn October 1917). He embarked per Hospital Ship (HS) ‘Ville de Liege’ for England 11.10.1917. Jones was transferred to the Birmingham War Hospital with injuries to his neck and right elbow 12.10.1917. He marched in to Deverill in France 12.4.1918. Jones proceeded overseas to France 9.4.1918. He reported sick with chronic Bronchitis and was invalided to England. Jones was admitted to hospital at Sutton Veny, UK 16.8.1918. He was listed for early return to Australia.
Embarked London per ‘Somali’ for Australia 10.12.1918.
Returned/Disembarked Fremantle 21.1.1919.
Discharged 25.6.1919.
Final Rank Private.
Medical Condition Invalided with bronchitis.
