Embarked Fremantle per RMS ‘Mongolia’ for Egypt 25.11.1915.
Roll Rank Trooper.
Roll Unit 3rd Light Horse Brigade, 10th Light Horse Regiment, 12th Reinf.
Walters disembarked at Egypt with his Regt. He marched in to Serapeum from Heliopolis 26.2.1916. Walters attended the Imperial School of Instruction, 19th Signallers Course and qualified as a Signaller at Zietoun 26.5.1917. The 10th Light Horse fought at Romani (August 1915) and Beersheba (Oct 1917) (AWM 10th Light Horse) Walters was sent to Rest Camp at Port Said 20.1.1918. He rejoined his Unit 1.2.1918. Walters became sick in the field with pyrexia, a fever of unknown origin. He was taken by Field Ambulance to the Australian Clearing Station 26.9.1918 and was later discharged for duty 3.10.1919. Walters rejoined his unit 7.10.1919. He was Appt. T/L/Cpl. at Zagazig 20.5.1919, then to T/ Cpl. 22.5.1919 and to Cpl 5.7.1919. Following demobilisation, Walters was listed for return to Australia.

Returned/Disembarked Fremantle 4.8.1919.
Discharged 26.9.1919.
Final Rank Corporal. 10th Light Horse Regtiment.
Medical Condition NK.
Awards and Medals 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal.
Notes Walters married at the Wesley Church West Guildford. It is this Methodist link that may have been his connection to the Guildford Wesley Church, where he may have worshipped during training in Guildford.
