Embarked Fremantle per ‘Seang Bee’ A48 for England 9.9.1916.
Roll Rank Private.
Roll Unit 28th Battalion, 11th Reinf, AIF.
Trelease disembarked at Plymouth 9.9.1916 and marched in to the 7th Training Bn. at Rollestone 10.9.1916. After a period of intensive training, he proceeded overseas to France per SS ‘Henrietta’ 19.1.1917. He joined the 28th Bn from the 11th Reinf. Trelease was admitted the 5th General Hospital with trench feet 24.1.1917, he was then invalided to the Birmingham War Hospital. Trelease went AWOL 21.8.1917 and forfeited 11 days pay. When deemed fit to return to active service, Trelease returned to France 20.10.1917 and rejoined his Bn. 28.10.1917. The 28th Bn, fought against the German Spring Offensive in April-May 1918. Trelease was KIA 1.6.1918, with 26 others of his battalion, by bombs dropped from an enemy aircraft near the village of La Houssoye, France. He was buried at the Franvillers Communal Cemetery Extension 3 ¾ miles north of Corbie. Plot 1, Row D, Grave 3. The address today is given as Franvillers Communal Cemetery Extension, Franvillers, Picardie, France.

Notes Treleases' parents were both deceased. His sister resided in Cornwall. He gave a contact address of his Uncle in Guildford, who was also the Executor of his will
