Stewart disembarked with his Unit at Devonport 10.1.1917. He marched in to AAMC Training Depot at Parkhouse 10.1.1917. He was detached for duty with 3rd Australian General Hospital at Brighton 18.1.1917. He was attached for duty with 3rd General Hospital 14.3.1917. Stewart proceeded overseas with British Expeditionary Force for France 3.5.1917. He was admitted to Hospital sick 7.5.1917. Stewart rejoined his unit 12.5.1917. He was transferred to 14th Field Ambulance 4.7.1917. He was again admitted to Hospital sick 13.8.1917. He had several admissions to Bulford Hospital in the UK. Stewart proceeded overseas to France 14.5.1918. He was transferred to 5th Army Medical Training Coy. 8.11.1918 and appointed Driver 9.11.1918. He marched out from France to England 4.6.1919 for return to Australia.
Embarked UK per ‘Takada’ for Australia 18.7.1919.
Returned/Disembarked 29.8.1919.
Discharged 6.10.1919.

Notes Stewart gave his neighbour's address as his contact. This may have arisen because of parental illiteracy, or his mother may have been in service at 5 Swan Street.  Stewart's home address was  given as 9 Swan Street Guildford. WA.  Swan Street was renamed Water Street in early 2000.
