Embarked from Melbourne per HMAS ‘Botanist’ for Egypt 24.11.1915.
Roll Rank Driver.
Roll Unit 6th Field Artillery Brigade, 17th Battery.
Pollard and his Unit disembarked at Suez 21.12.1915. Following the evacuation of Troops from Gallipoli there was a reorganization of the AIF, the 3rd, 6th and 12th Field Artillery Bdes became Army Brigades. The 6th Army Bde. was transferred to Alexandria where they joined the BEF for the Western Front. They embarked for France per HT ‘Eboe’ 17.6.1916 and disembarked at Marseilles 23.3.1916. The 6th Army Bde. fought in the Battle of the Somme. Pollard was wounded in action but remained on duty 18.7.1917. He took 2 weeks leave in England in September, returning 24.8.1917. He was promoted to Temp./Bombardier 11.11.1917, was appointed Bdr. 28.1.1918 and at his own request reverted to Driver 19.4.1918. Following leave in England, he rejoined his unit in France 24.10.1918.
Pollard marched out of France for England and return to Australia 17.2.1919. Pollard was hospitalized with bronchitis 25.4.1919 and discharged to Codford 8.5.1919. He was listed for return to Australia in 1919.

Returned/Disembarked 8.7.1919.
Discharged 30.8.1919.
