Embarked Fremantle per HMAT ‘Miltiades’ for Egypt 12.2.1916.
Roll Rank Private.
Roll Unit 7th Infantry Brigade, 28th Infantry Battalion, 9th Reinf.
Minchin disembarked with the 28th Bn. in Egypt. He was transferred to the 25th Howitzer Bde. Minchin was posted to 114th Battery 1.4.1916. In was engaged in action at the Railhead at Suez. He was transferred  to the 115th Battery at Moascar Egypt 21.5.1916. Minchin proceeded to Alexandria to join the BEF 8.6.1916 and embarked for France 8.7.1916. Minchin disembarked at Marseilles 27.6.1916. He joined the 14th FAB 9.7.1918 and  was promoted to Farrier Sgt. 16.9.1918. He attended a Veterinary Course 20.7.1918. Minchin was treated for scabies 8.4.1919 and was listed for return to Australia.
Embarked for Australia per ‘Windhuk’ 19.6.1919.
Returned/Disembarked Fremantle 7.8.1919.
Discharged 17.10.1919.
Final Rank Farrier Sgt., 14th FAB.
Medical Condition NK.
Awards and Medals British War Medal, Victory Medal.
Notes As an Army farrier, Minchin did serve in armed combat but close to front lines, and travelled with the battalions
