Embarked Albany per ‘Port Melbourne’ A16 for UK 23.7.1917.

Grogan disembarked at Liverpool with the Army Ammunition Supply Corps 2.1.1918 (AASC). He marched in to AASC Training Depot at Parkhouse 17.9.1917. After a period of intensive training, he proceeded overseas to France via Southampton 1.1.1918. He was promoted to T/Sgt 10.9.1918 then to Sgt. He then transferred to the  27th Battery, 7th Field Artillery Brigade 27.9.1918.   The 7th Brigade fought at Morlancourt and St. Quentin in September 1918. Grogan was admitted to 29th Field Ambulance with a debility 29.9.1918. Grogan was transferred to the 12th Army Transport was later hospitalized with a debility 29.11.1918. Grogan was promoted to T/ Company Sergeant Major 5.3.1919. He reverted to Sgt. in France 4.4.1919. Grogan was hospitalised with a debility 3.5.1919- 26.5.1919. He marched out to Parkhouse for return to Australia 1.7.1919.
