Davis disembarked at Liverpool 16.9.1917 with the Army Service Corps (ASC). He marched in to Parkhouse and transferred to Artillery Details at Larkhill Training School. After a period of intensive training, he embarked for France with rank of Driver 23.11.1917. Davis was taken on Strength with 3rd Army Artillery Brigade 29.11.1917. The 3rd Army Field Brigade fought at the Ypres salient during November and Amiens, Villers-Bretonneux and Hamel. Davis would have fought at some if not all of these battles. He marched out of France for England and was listed for return to Australia.
Embarked per ‘ Konigan Louise’ for return to Australia 21.6.1919.
Returned/Disembarked Fremantle 3.8.1919.
Discharged 2.9.1919.
