Embarked Fremantle per ‘Argyllshire’ for England 19.11.1916.
Roll Rank Sapper.
Roll Unit 7th Reinf. 4th Div Signallers.
Dodd disembarked at Devonport 10.1.1917. He marched into the Australian Depot at Perham Downs 11.1.1917. He was posted to the Engineer Training Depot (Signal Section) at Perham Downs. Dodd proceeded overseas to France 14.6.1917.  The 4th Division fought at Messines in July 1917. He was transferred to 5th Division Signal Coy. 20.8.1917 and fought in the Third Battle of Ypres. Dixon was wounded in action (gassed 14.5.1918.) in the German Spring Offensive 1918 (Reported West Australian Newspaper 17.6.1918).  He was admitted to the Lines of Communication  (L of C) Hospital to a ward for gassed patients. He rejoined his Unit in France 22.8.1918. Dodd developed Scabies 3.12.1919 and was admitted to Hospital. He was granted leave to attend an Accountancy College 15.7.1919 following demobilization.
Embarked for Australia per ‘Aeneus’ 22.11.1919.
Returned/Disembarked Fremantle 1.1.1920.
Discharged 17.2.1920.
