Enlisted with 1st Remount Unit Guildford, 4th Squadron.
Embarked Fremantle per HMAT ‘Orsova ‘ A67 for Egypt 12.11.1915.
Roll Rank Trooper/ Private.
Roll Unit 4th Squadron, 1st Australian Remount Unit.
Dixon disembarked in Egypt. He was transferred to the 1st Australian General Hospital at Heliopolis with Enteritis. He experienced repeated episode of enteritis and injury to right leg through being kicked by a horse.
Dixon was diagnosed with a chronic condition- paresis of bowel and old age. This resulted in his early return and discharge from active service. It was noted his condition was aggravated through service.
Embarked Suez for return to Australia per HS ‘Runic’ 19.4.1916.
Returned/Disembarked 7.5.1916.
Discharged 23.8.1916.
Final Rank Trooper/ Private with 1st Australian Remount Unit.
Medical Condition Invalided, paresis of bowel, old age, injury to right leg.
