Embarked Fremantle per ‘Miltiades’ for UK 29.1.1917.

Roll Unit Railway Corp- 3rd Railway Section.
Rupe disembarked at Devonport with his Corps 27.3.1917. They marched in to St. Lucia Barracks Borden 27.3.1917. The Unit proceeded overseas to France with 59th Aust. Railways Operation Depot (AROD) 11.5.1917. He was hospitalised with myalgia 27.8.1917 and transferred to the 26th General Hospital at Etaples 28.8.1917. Rupe was discharged from Hospital and marched in to the Aust. Broad Gauge Railway Depot (.ABGRD) He worked as a fitter on 8 shillings a day.
He was again admitted to hospital sick 18.5.1918. Rupe was transferred to England by HS 20.7.1918. Rupe disembarked at Southampton for No.2 Com. Depot at Weymouth and listed for return to Australia with ‘effort syndrome’.
Embarked for Australia per ‘Nervada’ 4.1.1919.
Returned/Disembarked in Australia 12.2.1919.
Discharged 29.3.1919.
Final Rank Private, 5th BGDROC.
Medical Condition. Invalided with ‘effort syndrome’.
