Embarked from Fremantle per ‘Persic’ 29.12.1916.

Roll Unit 46th Battalion, 8th Reinf.
Pinkerton disembarked at Devonport England 3.12.1916. His Bn. was marched in to 12th Training Bn. at Codford 4.3.1917. Pinkerton was sick and admitted to Hospital at Codford 17.3.1916. He was again hospitalized with the Training Bn. with an injured foot 19.6.1917. Pinker and his Bn. proceeded overseas to France via Southampton 25.8.1917. They marched in to the Australian Div. Base Depot at Havre 20.6.1917. Pinkerton was transferred back to permanent Base in England with stiffness of a great toe 17.7.1917. This foot problem prevented him marching and active service. He was listed or early return to Australia as unfit for active service but suitable for Home Service in Australia 28.7.1917.

Returned/Disembarked Fremantle 17.10.1917.
Discharged 8.11.1917.
