Embarked Fremantle per HMAT ‘Themistocles’ A32 for Egypt 13.10.1915.

Roll Unit 3rd Light Horse Brigade, 10th Light Horse Regiment, 10th Reinf.
Overton disembarked in Egypt with the 10th Light Horse. He marched in to Serapeum ex Heliopolis 26.2.1916. He was admitted to hospital with a septic foot 11.8.1916. He was transferred to the 26th Casualty Clearing Station and then to the Australian General Hospital at Abbassia 12.8.1916. Overton was admitted to Hospital with an ingrown toe nail at Et Maber 20.11.1916. He was again admitted to hospital sick 22.4.1917. Overton was admitted to hospital in Cairo with a debility (shellshock) 10.5.1917. He was transported to the Convalescent Depot at Abbassia with a nervous debility 21.5.1917. Overton was taken on strength with his Unit 28.6.1917. He was admitted to Hospital with a debility 7.7.1917. He was transferred to the Light Horse Div. Training Depot at Moascar 28.8.1917 and marched out with Aust and NZ Mounted Training Div. 34 Coy. 31.8.1917. Overton was listed as a Driver under AIF orders at Khan Yunis 31.8.1917. He was admonished for a crime of ill treating a horse 30.7.1918. Overton was hospitalised with pyrexia (a fever of unknown origin) 19.8.1918. He marched out to Moascar for return to Australia 16.5.1919.

Returned/Disembarked 16.7.1919.
Discharged 7.9.1919.
