Myers was underage when he enlisted. His parents gave written permission for his enlistment and overseas service. Myers was given the roll as Trumpeter with 10th LH. 19.10.1914.
Embarked Fremantle per HMAT ‘Mashobra’ A47 for Egypt 8.2.1915.
Roll Rank Private/ Trumpeter.
Roll Unit 3rd Light Horse Brigade, 10th Light Horse Regiment, ‘B’ Squadron.
Myers disembarked in Egypt with his Regt. 8.3.1915 and marched in to the training camp. Myers was hospitalized with Influenza 9.4.1915. He proceeded to Alexandria, joined the MEF and embarked for Gallipoli. The Regt. landed at Gallipoli 20.5.1915. Myers was severely wounded in action, receiving a GSW to his face and arm 29.8.1915 at the Battle at Hill 60. He was transferred to the16th Casualty Clearing Station at Anzac and then  evacuated from Gallipoli per HS 'Devanha'   to Malta 4.9.1915. He developed dysentry and was transferred to England. Myers was admitted to Harefield Hospital in London with a GSW to his face and Dysentry 12.11.1915. On recovery, he joined the MEF 11.2.1916 and returned to Egypt. Myers rejoined his Regt 14.2.1916 and was transferred to the 3rd Light Horse Reserve 6.3.1916. He was taken on strength with his Regt. at Heliopolis. Myers was  transferred from the Light Horse to the 4th Division Ammunition Column (DAC) 1.4.1916.
Myers entrained to Alexandria, joined the BEF and embarked per HT ‘Oriana’ for France 16.6.1916. He disembarked at Marseilles 13.6.1916 and marched into the 4th Division Details Base. Myers was mustered as Driver with the DAC 27.6.1916. He reverted to Gunner in the Field 27.10.1916. Myers fought in the boggy trenches of the Somme in October 1916, with heavy rains and difficult conditions. Myers was admitted to hospital sick 10.12.1916. He rejoined his Unit 20.12.1916. Myers was again admitted sick to hospital 10.1.1917. He rejoined his unit 18.1.1917. In March 1918 the 4th Division was moved to the Somme, to limit the German Spring Offensive. They fought at Amiens, Dernancourt, Villers-Bretonneux and Hamel. Myers was listed for return to Australia as personnel.
Embarked for Australia per SS ‘Burma’ 14.12.1918.
Returned/Disembarked Fremantle 22.1.1919.
Discharged 23.3.1919.
