Embarkation Fremantle per RMS ‘Mongolia’ for Egypt 22.5.11.1915.
Roll Rank Private.
Roll Unit 10th Light Horse, 12th Reinforcements.
Jones disembarked at Suez. He marched in to Camp at Heliopolis. Jones marched in to Serapeum 26.2.1916. He was attached for duty with the 3rd Light Horse Brigade. He became sick and was admitted to hospital 22.2.1917- with abrasions to groin 26.2.1917. He was transferred to the Australian Engineers 3rd Australian Squadron 11.8.1917. Jones attended Officers School 2.3.1918- 22.3.1918. He then transferred to the 10th Light Horse. Jones was admitted to Rest Camp with Stenosis of the tear duct 29.6.1918. He re-joined his unit from the Field 12.8.1918. Jones was admitted sick to hospital with malaria 11.9.1918. He was sent to Hospitals at Gaza, Kantara, Port Said and then Cairo. Jones was listed for return to Australia.
