Embarked Fremantle per HMAT ‘Argyllshire’ for England 9.11.1916.

Roll Unit. 43rd Battalion. 5th Reinforcement. Australian Imperial Force.
Corey disembarked at Devonport 10.1.1917 with the 5th Reinforcement 43rd Battalion. He marched in to the 11th Training Battalion at Durrington 5.2.1917. Corey proceeded overseas to France 25.4.1917. He marched in to the 43rd Battalion as part of the 3rd Division 3.5.1917. His Battalion fought at Passchendaele and Broodseinde Ridge at the third Battle of Ypres. In August 1917 he was admitted sick to hospital with tonsillitis 27.8.1917. He rejoined his unit 20.10.1917, having missed the action at Passchendaele with its large number of casualties Corey was admitted to 18th General Hospital at Camiers, France 2.5.1918 with Trench Fever. He was admitted to hospital with scabies 2.5.1918. Corey was discharged to Base Depot 3.6.1918. He marched out of France and into Codford 29.4.1919.
Embarked for Australia per HT ‘Somali’ 1.6.1919.
Returned/Disembarked 8.7.1919.
Discharged 15.8.1919.
Final Rank Private with 43rd Battalion. Australian Imperial Force.
Medical Condition NK.
Awards and Medals British War Medal, Victory Medal.
Notes Roy Corey was married to Gladys Mary Marshall of Denmark on  24.10.1925 (Albany Advertiser 31.10.1925 p3)
