Military History


Dixon trained in Guildford with Australian Field Artillery as a Gunner 26.4.1916. He was transferred to Maribyrnong, Victoria 3.6.1916. Dixon was admitted to Hospital 11.6.1916, in a serious condition and subsequently died of disease, (Epidemic Cerebro Spinal Meningitis and Pericarditis Toxaemia) at Alfred Hospital Vic. 12.8.1916. He was buried at Springvale Necropolis, Melbourne, Victoria.
Final Rank Gunner 8th Battery. Died no active service.
Medical Condition Dec’d, Died of Disease.
Awards and Medals No medals not eligible. His memorial plaque was sent to family.
